Trail Rating
It wont take but a minute to find several different trail rating systems online, and only a few more to be utterly confused. Ours is of course different, and not aligned with or based on others systems.
Between the bike, your experience, skills, out-rigging, and confidence; its nearly impossible to properly define these but we gave it our best shot.
WHITE LEVEL - HARDEST
Why white? Because thats the color of your knuckles and starfish when you’re working through loose rocks, baby heads, deep mud & sand, extreme water crossings, and steep climbs & drop-offs.
Only true 50/ 50 knobby tires will suffice.
ORANGE LEVEL - HARDER
Mapped dirt & service roads with irregular maintenance, mountain roads, and some OHV parks fit the Orange Level. Most riders will find themselves in this category. Loose or silty dirt, light mud & sand sections, tight turns, climbs & downhills, degraded pavement. 70/ 30 tires needed at least.
BLUE LEVEL - EASIEST
No knobbies? No problem. Blue Level dirt roads and trails are generally wide, flat, graded, and without many obstacles. Best for beginners and season opener refreshers. 80/ 20 tires needed at least.
